Carousing

"The drinks were too big."
~anonymous Carouser

For at least 12,000 years this area was known only to Native Americans who hunted and fished here….and then came the Carousal. The year – 2014 A.D. And the place? A town hard by the eastern edge of Oregon’s Cascade Range called Bend. Derived from “Farewell Bend”, the designation used by early pioneers to refer to the location along the Deschutes River, it is here that the Ponderosa Pine forest transitions into the high desert – arid land, junipers, sagebrush and all the critters that call it home. Mountain Biking, fishing, hiking, golf, rafting, bocce, croquet and a high-density of drinking establishments make this Northwest locale the perfect spot to carouse. And for those of you that have always wanted to be able to state “Whoops! I pooped in Deschutes!” – well, here’s your chance.

Come one, come all, and let’s come together – Carousal XXIX in Bend, July 17-20, 2014.
